An Overview of Geographic Routing

چکیده
Geographic routing is a procedure often used in sensor networks to route information to a destination specified by geographic coordinates instead of an address. This approach is used primarily in sensor networks, where it offers many advantages when compared to traditional, more static routing methods, which often don’t adapt well to the environmental specifics under which sensors operate. This paper provides an overview over some such methods, presents two services based upon them and explores the possibility of merging different approaches.

EEQR: An Energy Efficient Query-Based Routing Protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks
Routing in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is a very challenging task due to the large number of nodes, their mobility and lack of proper infrastructure. Since the sensors are battery powered devices, energy efficiency is considered as one of the main factors in designing routing protocols in WSNs. Most of energy-aware routing protocols are mere energy savers that attempt to decrease the energy...

متن کاملGeographic and Clustering Routing for Energy Saving in Wireless Sensor Network with Pair of Node Groups
Recently, wireless sensor network (WSN) is the popular scope of research. It uses too many applications such as military and non-military. WSN is a base of the Internet of Things (IoT), pervasive computing. It consists of many nodes which are deployed in a specific filed for sense and forward data to the destination node. Routing in WSN is a very important issue because of the limitation of the...

متن کاملA Survey of Routing Protocols and Geographic Routing Protocol Using Gps in Manet
The wireless associations in this network are highly error level and can go down usually due to mobility of nodes, interference and less infrastructure. Therefore, routing in MANET is a critical task due to highly dynamic environment. In recent years, several routing protocols have been proposed for mobile ad hoc networks and prominent among them are DSR, AODV and TORA. This review paper provid...
